BUDGET AMOUNT: 1.173.971,64$

Construction of a new Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) facility for the U.S. Air Force 7th Reconnaissance Squadron. A new building, on a dedicated site, complete with facilities and equipment.

The design of the new AGE facility includes administrative space, maintenance and processing areas, hazardous waste storage areas, a wash rack area, a short- and long-term covered parking areas and new maneuver yards.

The preliminary design study involved a survey on the site including the identification of existing underground utilities.

The design considered several parameters and constraints, including, accessibility to the new AGE facility, connection to the existing site utilities and interconnection and functionality between the different AGE components and proximity to the airport runway and was set up according to the latest revisions/issues of the technical regulations, Italian, European and American.

One of the most interesting aspects is that of the design of the building’s load-bearing structures, all with structural steel frames. The structural design was performed in accordance with the current Italian code DM 17/01/18.

The design includes a comprehensive analysis of the fire prevention requirements to be adopted for the design of the new building.

An HVAC system sized according to the conditions required by the client and in accordance with the standards was designed for the new AGE building. Heating and/or cooling of all rooms is also planned.

Finally, the project includes the design of the electrical and special systems (telecommunications and lighting). The new electrical and special systems are designed and U.S. and Italian electrical and fire standards, laws and regulations.
